If you were a rally fan you would have already known what they were going to be talking about.

OK ****ers, let's see someone rally their S2000 successfully and prove me wrong. Until then, you're in denial.

OK, I'm going to spell this out step by step for the denser contributors to this thread:
Thread title: FIA Confirms S2000 Spec-Based Future For WRC
OP's post: I was so excited to see that only to be disappointed (implied that the disappointment was upon his discovery that it's not the HONDA S2000)
My response: The (Honda) S2000 would make a horrible rally car!
Next comes the chorus of ignorance....

Yes, the S2000 car would make a horrible rally car. The best rally cars have always been the AWD cars.

All silliness aside for a moment, I think the spec series might actually work. Unlike circuit driving where everything is defined by such a small margin, in rally there is such a wide range of difference that a driver's talent and bravery can make, taking the car out of the equation might actually work.
In an ideal world it would be like the good 'ol days with a dozen different makes fighting it out, but that's just not realistic in today's economic climate, so here is a sensible way to keep what matters alive-- our favorite rally heroes routinely doing the impossible under the toughest conditions. Really, other than rooting for the World Rally Blue Subarus, the car matters less to me in WRC than in any other series.
