ha ha ha. I agree.
I'm not gonna complain about the price of caviar or fois gras b/c it really doesn't affect me.
I'll complain if I make enough $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to buy a Ferrari.

I'm still amazed that their overall performance target was the F40 but the darn thing is so civilized. You can't tell me the 599 feels as balls-to-the-wall as an F40. Just won't accept that...

[QUOTE=JonBoy,Apr 16 2007, 09:26 AM] When it first came out, I actually thought the 599 was, well, not quite ugly but certainly not that attractive.

you do realize that Ferrari insists this is their premium sports car and the 612 Scaglieti is their GT car

i also didnt like the 599 at first... but then i saw the 612 and i thought the 612 was worse... consequently im fond of the 599 now... i dont understand...
It's a sports car compared to many other cars but I can't for a minute see this as being more of a sports car than the F430. Ferrari can call it what they like but it's too big and heavy to be the premium SPORTS car. It's a GT, pure and simple.

My roommate works at Porsche and reguarly drives their whole range of models (excep: cgt). However, they do have one on display. not that it is for sale, of course. It actually belongs to a surgeon who lives in the area. Whenever he wants to drive it, he calls the dealership and says 'hey, can you pull my car out for me' then drops it off when he's done. Amazing. Anyway, point of this post...the dealership is known for doing aftermarket performance enhancements to 911's. Last week they had finished up a 660+bhp 996 Turbo. As the car was being pulled off the lot for testing and tuning, the gentleman who owns the cgt just happened to be pulling out. My roommate was riding shotgun in the 996 and said that he did something he never in his life imagined that he would be able to do: walk a cgt. life is good at porsche...life is very good.

And what has this story got to do with the Ferrari F599?
