Default Ferrari Exhaust question

I don't mean to sound stupid or like a noob and it probably has been asked a million times by other people on other forums.....

But seriously what makes the ferrari exhaust the way it is? It's very quiet and docile under a low load but at WOT it's a motorcycle exhaust. Actually sounds better than my R6 when I had it...lol.

Is it because of the volume of exhaust that it produces? The way the resonators are built? Any serious ideas on the way it produces its sounds?

Thx

it's the engine itself that creates the sound, someone will probably elaborate on that a bit better.

almost any big engine, small litre, high reving engine will have that high pitch sound. But then it's also contributed by how the exhaust is design. Take for example the Carrera GT, best sounding engine IMO.

What about the manufactures for the ferrari and lambo exhausts. It almost seem like they can make it for any application though I know the main difference is the way the crank is made.

Damn Christople...I'm just curious....

Three words: Flat Plane Crank

Flat Plane Crank vs Cross-Plane Crank

Also, the relatively low displacement of Ferrari's V8s, and their high rev limits, contributes to the sound. The exhaust system plays a part, but it's not the only factor by far.

it is mostly the exhaust. after driving the f430 you can tell the major sound is not the engine. im sure it can be replicated somewhat.

I'm not so sure about that dyhppy...review videos of the 355,360 and 430 back to back and u can see that with each bump in displacement the tone isnt as high pitched...exhaust influences it yes but major contributor is the engine...y do u think all nissans with the vq sound the same across the board...I know there exhausts arent the same
