show us your facts please.
yea its 186 for sure, cause i remember some nut sued Ferrari (or at least tried to, i dont remember for sure) a few months back. he had the nerve to actually test his personal car's top speed and found that it wouldnt actually reach it. not under the conditions he was testing in anyway. so Ferrari at least, is claiming 186.

I can easily believe the CSL hitting 186 mph. A good friend of mine has an e46 m3, and with me in the car (taking video) he hit 170+ without a problem. He does have exhaust, intake, and the electronic limiter (limits top speed to 155)/ecu was reflashed before he bought the car.

With the extra hp not being that big of a factor, the weight difference between a regular m3 and a CSL is quite substantial. With BMW using lightweight materials such as carbon fiber, and glass-fibre plastics otherwised used for aerospace applications, 186 mph is far from a stretch in my opinion.

Was that speedometer-indicated or by GPS? I don't trust uncalibrated speedos at all when we're talking top speed.
