Basically the rear glass is a bubble, like the vettes, but then there are flying butresses that float over the glass. I'd call them strictly a styling element, but considering how much Ferrari likes to play in their wind tunnell, they probably do smooth the airflow.

I still prefer the 550/575 styling. That said, I wouldn't kick this out of my driveway.

I'll be honest, I've never liked the front-engined Ferrari's... this one on the other hand is pretty spectacular.
However, if I was in the market for a Ferrari this would not be tops on my list, not even top 5.

Honestly I am a bit disappointed with the overall package here. Some elements are definitely nice/interesting, like the c-pillars and those magic little buttons/toggles on the steering wheel.
I definitely object to the taillights though. protokultur's reminder of the 575 is much prettier IMHO. Call me old fashioned, but give me four little round red lights instead.
Not that I can afford one anyway, and even if I could it looks too much like a 'vette to sink that kind of cash on. Good thing you can pick up a 550 for $90K.

The father of one of my students has one on order. I'll let you know what it's like to ride in one soon as he takes delivery, as I'm sure he'll be dropping her off in it... and I will be begging a ride.
Currently he alternates driving his F430, Continental GT, and SL65 on different days.
