Default Ferrari 458 Italia

Ferrari makes 125 hp/liter
S2000 makes 120hp/liter
About time someone broke a 10 year old record.

I thought the record only applied to "2 liter engines in a car under 100K" anyway.

Even so, it only sets the record for torque: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_autom...displacement.29

I have a really hard time believing they got 185 bhp out of a 1.3L in 1994 without forced induction or completely ruining reliability. It's not that it couldn't be done, only that it means they more than DOUBLED the power of the stock 1.3L motor (85 hp) without forced induction.

If it's a variant of the Cultus GTi, it would've made 115 hp in stock trim. I can't see them adding more than 50% power (normally aspirated) without forced induction.

I did a bit of research and everyone is referencing Wikipedia but no one has an actual source to indicate that this was a normally aspirated motor or that it even existed (much less in a production vehicle).

Nope, the record was for any NA engine per liter. The 458 seems awesome!
