Default Ferrari 355 F1 a good car?

What I mean is from a reliability standpoint. Are there any particular years to stay away from?

Also the 355 has the very 1st generation F1 transmission. I heard it is quite jerky in auto mode. It is not as refined as the 2nd gen. they have in the 360's.

I would go with the 6 spd. Just make sure you live near a Ferrari dealer. Minor things(leaks) may need frequent dealership visits.

Affording a Ferrari and affording to own a Ferrari are two very different things.

Beware of the dealer up in Chicago (I forget the name -- it has luxury in it) who sells "cheap 355's". What they don't tell is that the cars are grey market and not legal for registration in the U.S. -- well not without spending an assload of cash anyway.

Well, not considering a purchase anytime soon. When the timing is right, I'll pull the trigger on one of these babies.

I know that the 355 is more realistic than a 360 for me at this time.

I guess I'm doing some homework on this waaaaaaaaaayyyyy in advance.

Go to this site www.nsxfiles.com and read about their experiences. The owner of the site has one and he documents his highs and lows with the car quite well.

the old F1 transmissions are AWEFUL!! To be honest even the F1 box in the 360s aren't so good. BMW's SMG is far superior to ferrari's system right now.

As far as the rest of the car, head over to www.ferrarichat.com and read up.
