Is the fat lady warming up (to sing)?
Here are the standings:
Renault 58
Toyota 40
Mclaren 37
Williams 21
Ferrari 18
red bull 14
Here's a link to a story where MS says Ferrari still has a chance -->>CLICK
5 down 14 races to go.
My belief is ALL the rule changes were targeted at getting Ferrari out of first place. On top of that I believe Bridgestone is (mostly) to blame thus far.

IMO the dumbest rule of all time is one set of tires. They want to slow cars down and/or allow passing it isn't happening. IMO one set of tires is more dangerous than new tires when needed.
Plus pit stops aren't the same w/o tire changes.

Ferrari is out, it is going to be between Renault and Mclaren.
15 laps for a set of tires was just silly and something had to be done. Personally I would like to see them get 4 sets of tires per car per weekend and they can do whatever they want with them.

If the real goal is to make F1 more affordable, then they need to leave the rules alone for a few years. I'd like to see no limit on the number of tires used in a weekend.
If they want better racing, they need to go back to steel brakes, get rid of the wings, add about 500 h.p. and put big sticky tires on them.
As for Ferrari having a chance at the constructors championship? I'd say about a 15% chance at this point. It seems like all the bad luck they haven't had in the last couple of years is coming home to roost. Bridgestone is more like millstone right now.

To many quality teams to pass for the Maranello folks to win the constructors - or drivers. This really is a long season, but I mean even the 3rd place Mclaren has double the points and they've had some bad luck as well.
The one tire rule hurts but really - everyone else is hampered by it as well. Truth be told, Ferrari dominance started to wane late last year.

Back in 2003 Ferrari didn't win a race until race 4 (out of 16)
Also back in 2003 Williams won 4 races in a 6 race span And finished in 3rd place.
It's possible for Ferrari to go on a tear. Last year Ferrari won 5 in a row and 7 in a row.
I'm not counting them out until they have gone half the season without a win.

Also Ferrari was not starting to wane late last year. They won 10 of the last 12 races.

Not everyone. MS and RB are the only 2 drivers I can think of that have DNF because of tires.

The red guys (read MS) just had a problem in the last race
