As Far As Potential Goes Which Is Better Evo Viii Or S2000 ??????

HA! The s2k has almost no modding potential. The only thing you can do is FI, and you cant even pump that much boost. The s2k is an awesome car in stock form, but dont go looking for it to be a drag monster- you will be severely disappointed. The evo would do much better.

You can make anything into a 10 second car if you have the money to burn. The Evo is a better starting point, though. Neither of them are drag cars, though - if you want a drag car start with a Supra, an F-body or a Mustang.

The EVO will definately have better potential. It comes with factory turbo with intercooler so the engine was designed for FI. Im sure there will be upgrade turbo and intercooler kits available like the WRX. The S2000 comes theoretically modded from the factory to full potential. Bolt ons will see VERY little gains with some cases of engines loosing power. Like stated above, only real thing to do is go FI. FI is also limited due to the high compression ratio of the F20C. If you are looking to mod the hell out of the car, look into the Z as well as many turbo kits will be appearing for that car.

Sure, the EVO8 has 276hp at the crank, but when it finally gets to the wheels it's got about 194 (roughly) by my estimates. If I remember correctly the S2000 gets around an even 200 to the wheels. The EVO8 will be quicker off the line due to AWD, but the S2000 has more HP going to the wheels + VTEC and no turbo lag. Not to mention the S2000 is about 400 lbs lighter. It's definately close and it's probably just going to be up to the driver. However, if you could theoretically give the cars the same driver with the same reaction times and perfect shifting, I believe the S2000 would be the quicker of the two.
On the other hand, however, the one with the most POTENTIAL to go faster is definately the EVO8. But when it comes to the two cars as stock models, the above is true.

Boy, you sure are hung up on this 10 second thing, aren't you? 2 separate threads on the same topic. If you really want one that bad, you should go out and make yourself an S2000 "funny car" just like they do those Camaros and Mustangs. A "weigh next to nothing" shell that "resembles" an S2000, 15" wide crinkle wall slicks in back and skinny little "life savers" in front and a 426 hemi (blown and nitro of course) crammed into a tube frame. You would be justified to call it an S2000 just as they call those funny cars whatever they are supposed to "look" like. You will then have a 6 second S2000.

I believe the EVO will outrun the S2k in the quarter mile, although it prob. couldn't hang with it in the curves. Although the answer to the question of the thread, EVO hands down. Right now I plan on the EVO being my next daily driver.
