The point of this thread wasn't for everybody to name the one Japanese they would want over any others. The OP picked 4 cars to chose from. He didn't say these were the best ever built or the most deaireable

2000GT is of course much rarer than the 240Z, but the 240z is better in pretty much every way. For me, Japanese cars, I'll go with the 240Z, FD RX-7, S2000

To be fair, the question "Which famous Japanese sports car would you pick?" should have many more options to be really robust.

Voted NSX-R with the RX-7 Spirit R a very close 2nd... if I trusted rotarys more I would have picked the Spirit R over the NSX-R.

I'd take the FD3S . Too bad about the apex seals. It's the most beautiful car to come from Japan IMO.

Despite me voting for an NSX, I have to agree with you here. There's nothing sexier then a tastefully modded, wingless fd3s.
