I give truck driver all the room I possibly can. They have a tough job.

I have been known on a long haul to draft off a semi a little. Not ridiculously close but you can tell with a milage meter when you enter the wake as you current milage status will shoot up. I try to staty back far enough to be respectful though because I see long lines of long haul truckers drafting off each other all the time and it does not seem to be a problem. Just drive I90 and you'll see it all day long.

+1 on supporting this

I know some truck drivers, and it takes SKILLZ to drive those behemoths. No matter how aggressive I drive, I slow down and make sure I'm not in the big rig's blind spot before passing them up or changing lanes, etc.

I don't have any problem with their doing this in order to support the Truck drivers--I always try my best to be courteous to them, my big concern--and where I think the "beware" was warranted--is that they're going to be using this to pull over speeders. Being a frequenter of these roads, questions like:

How often are they doing this?
Are they just pulling over people who are going ridiculous speeds--like 90, 100, etc? Or, is 80 going to get screwed, too.

Eh, this just really bothers me. Indiana state troopers used to be few and far between on the highways... out in the middle of no where, you were fine. Now they're everywhere, and apparently, in sheep's clothing, too.

I actually see more stupid truck drivers than anything. Farting along on the road, going side-by-side and not letting people pass, pulling out to try and pass a guy while going up a hill, forcing into traffic instead of yielding as required, etc, etc...

On 1-20 back in 2005, we had two truckers block the entire highway (while moving) by driving side-by-side at 35 mph for five minutes. Why? No idea.

I was doing a sales job in Indiana and was late for an appointment. I got two speeding tickets just on the way there. There were more cop cars than non-cop cars in some parts of that state.

Hehe, that's nothing. Whenever I'm in Romania, I not only see cars (underpowered I might add) attempt to pass 18 wheelers on a 2-lane highway. No, that's not enough excitement for them. I see huge trucks try to pass other huge trucks on 2-lane highways with the slimmest of margins. Now that's insane.

But I might just excuse that type of driving if people here could learn to observe the proper passing rules on multi-lane highways.

Funny, I have never seen a cop pull anyone over except for speeding....Face it highway speed laws exist for one purpose, raise revenue for the state.
