I have to think FOTA is nothing more than a negotiating tactic. There no way they could do all the logistics necessary to get a global race series off the ground in less than one year.

I would bet there are tracks and people waiting in the wings for just such a split. Since it's been in the works for so long I'd almost bet there are people who have already signed letters of intent
