Did he called a local towing company?

I had my truck towed before, and it took 2 days before the cops could find out that a local towing company just towed it for an illegal parking.

I would try to call all the local towing companies, it could be a mixup.

Hopefully, it's a mix up and just a tow.

But sorry about your troubles.

I'm hoping my pager alarm w/ motion sensors will help me out if I were to park outside my garage.

I agree. It sux to get a car back that was stolen. You dont know how it was driven. I mean have you ever heard the saying "Drive it like you stole it"?

Best of luck with it though.

I found this statement rather ironic. Or maybe it's just late on a Saturday night and I'm bored and lonely and in an reflective mood.

Stealing cars isn't really a job; then again it pays fairly well if you're good at it, much like being an athlete or musician. The irony in the world of professional car thieves (which have been around much longer than joy riders, though not as long as petty thieves) is that they are simply making the supply side of the supply and demand curve. Where, then, is the demand for stolen cars? As the case may be, it's us. Not S2000 owners specifically, but car guys. The guys with Civics with S2000 headlights and S2000 seats and Integra wheels? Anyone want to take a bet on how many of those parts are legally acquired from Honda or purchased from an owner who didn't steal the car in the first place? Of course we've all heard of chop shops, grey/black market parts, etc. But how many people really know where their parts came from?

I assure you, someone is buying your brother's 350Z. If not the whole car (likely in another country), than parts - the seats, engine, tranny, wheels, etc. Why would someone want to buy a VQ35 out of a stolen car? Good question. I suspect it has a lot to do with money; namely a stolen VQ35 probably costs 1/3 of what a new one from Nissan costs.

OK, enough of that. Sorry that your brother had his car stolen. Don't take it personally, and don't let it stop either of you from having a decent car.
