Actually, the 10th Anniversay limited edition (10AE) Miata came out in 1999. The one in this ad reads "2002". Also 10AE Miata has a badge on the fender (i think driver side) listing the production number out of 7500 (I thin). I would have bought the 10AE if I was able to fit comfortably. Towards the latter part of 2000, lots of Mazda dealers here in NJ had many leftover 10AE they letting go real cheap. Nice Miata. Not a fan of chrome wheels but it looks sweet on the 10AE.

I love Miatas. Owned one and have defended them quite a few times on this board. But...
If that ain't proof that any monkey with $ can screw up a perfectly good car, I don't know what is.
Let me also put my 12 cents in on a few other items.
1) That isn't a 10AE model.
2) Mazda usually makes a "limited" model Miata every year or so. In the old days, it was a color package (yellow or BRG), then it was the M edition. While they are limited edition (in that only X number are made) and have a rabid cult following (esp. the British Racing Green and Yellow models) they aren't usually so hard to find that dealers mark them up.
3) Is it just me or do the wheels not even fit this car. I won't argue style because that's too personal (although I think they look terrible) but the way the wheels and tires meet and the way the tires and fender wells meet, it looks to me like someone's done a crappy job putting aftermarket wheels on this puppy.

This one has a bunch of dealer ad ons and is priced way too high.
