Default Exige S or Cayman S for $50k?

Very tempting for a non daily driven car.

Watching the videos of Max Angelli's motortrend reviews on both... it seems like the Exige S would be FUN but a handful. On street-legal speeds, I probably could manage not getting in over my head. But for regular commutes, the Cayman S might be a little sedate for me.

If I had a longer, higher speed commute, I'd pick the Cayman.

But having supercar performance for $50k is very tempting. I know I could have that with a Corvette... and the 08s are interesting enough to get me to drive my first Chevrolet in years... but I think the Lotus might be more fun.

I'd imagine that in 1-2 years, the Exige S and the Cayman would both be sub-$40k lightly used.

I say you only live once.

Life is too short to compromise on sports cars, and whil you're at it while not go for the most fun you can have.

You already have an RS4, so screw practicality.

Yeah, if you have a daily driver...get the Lotus.

Cayman S' are really really nice...but for the more visceral experience, I'd choose the Lotus.

What was the question here again?

get the Lotus, there is no other choice, unless you start looking at Crossbow's and Atom's.

But maybe a little too refined at street legal speeds?

I want adrenaline in the fun car!

Cayman S for me. Practically as quick, doesn't beat you up, and probably more reliable in the long run (less stressed/hardcore).

Of course, since you have the RS4, I would probably get the Exige S in your case.
