I guess you two won't be buying a new NSX then. Oh wait, you weren't going to buy one in the first place.

You guys crack me up.

McLaren, Ferrari, Porsche and Lamborghini are all using paddle shifters exclusively for their supercars. It's a requirement of the market these days. Even Porsche is apparently going with PDK only (!!) for the upcoming 991 GT3.

Yes I know, and it doesn't make me happy!

As long as alternatives are being offered that is what I'll buy.

Also, is no one else quiet upset about the NSX not having a traditional transmission? Honda makes the best shifters on earth...

no more?

By the way, the McLaren P1 is also a hybrid - just provided details today. 903 hp (combined) and 664 ft-lbs from a twin-turbo V8 and small electric motor. At the unveiling of the new McLaren F1 car, they showed the P1 backing up using electric power only (completely silent).

Sign of times. You want the state of the art car, a manual is not it unfortunately. Ferrari made the best drum brakes, but that's no longer available either.

It looks beautiful...but paddle shifters??? Come on dawggggggggggggggggggggg!!!

For me, the whole essence of driving a sports car is the manual transmission!

I'm thinking the same thing. Though I think the overall shape of the instrument cluster looks like the GT-R. New NSX seems to be 'inspired by' a lot of cars out today.

Want.

But yeah, I would prefer the focus being on driving enjoyment (ie, 6 or 7 speed manual) rather than fuel economy, outright performance or gee-wiz tech (ie, 7 or 8 speed DCT or ZF auto.) S2000 style responsiveness over computer optimized traction management. Give it the looks, the power/torque, the luxury - and the sheer joy of driving.
