Make sure you let us know in a few months after you've either wrecked it or popped the engine.

My car is fully street legal. But far from stock.

I'm talking about TWS.

the evo is too easy to drive to crash. and teh 4g63 is the greatest 4 cylinder ever designed for aroad car. Its capable of holding 500 whp on BONE stock internals and it will hold. the vishnu race car that competed in 1 lap has bone stock internals and has 40k on it with over 5000 dyno pulls and thousnads of race miles. still perfect compression on stock vavle train.

Actually, people tend to crash them because they're so easy to drive. The EVO inspires so much confidence it makes the driver feel he's invincible and gets into trouble that he can't handle.

Greatest 4 cylinder ever? If you're only looking at which engine can hold 1,323,981 whp stock then the 4G63 might be it.

4G63 is not the only one holding at 500whp. 2 EJ257s are holding at 500whp also. But at 500whp both of those engines are not going to last long. All the high power'ed EVOs at that event had one problem or another, Turbotrix's EVO only managed a best 10.5 before the turbo blew.

That first sentence is just silly. I'm not going to comment on "the greatest 4 cylinder ever" but I have to also agree that it is one of the greatest and well known. Turbotrix actually ran a 9.7 @ 148mph. I don't know where you got that the turbo blew, cuz here's the thread on their 10.5 run.

Yes, I'm aware that they have successfully ran a 10.5 without something blowing, and yes I'm also aware that they are the first one into the 9s with a USDM EVO 8. But if you read my post again, you'll see that I was talking about what happended at the particular event that the thread was talking about. I got that info from my EVO friends that were there at that event.

I guess I didn't word my sentence correctly or you misunderstood what I was trying to say. The EVO is a very easy to to drive fast in, therefore it's a confidence inspiring car. In turn it makes some inexperienced drivers take corners at higher speeds than the driver can handle. And if the car gets out of shape in a turn, they don't have the experience to correct the problem. I'm not saying that's how every EVO owner crashes their car, just some of the cases that I know of.
I know what you're trying to say, it's just that it's like that for most sports cars out there. S2000's aren't an exception either, since they're highly unforgiving with inexperienced people who have read that the S2000's handle very well. Evo's are very forgiving and it takes a lot to get them out of control--you gotta be purposely trying to throw it out of shape to get it to bite you, which requires stupidity almost (ie: cranking the steering wheel as fast as you can while going straight at 70mph). While it isn't invincible, it does allow the driver to be a little crazier than the average driver.

I agree with what you are saying. But I think S2K drivers would tend to be more cautious when pushing their cars, cause most of them know that the S2K has a tricky rear. Same case with all RWD sports cars. But EVO drivers gets a confidence boost from the AWD, and think they can power out of most ugly situations. They don't realize that even though the car has the ability, they don't. I agree with EVO being more forgiving though.

The number of people I have heard say "my 4 banger car has 500 hp and is reliable" is always amazing. Again, Id like to hear from you in a few months when you pop the engine. I give it at least another few thousand miles (1 or 2 races). Make sure you come back and let us know.
