My arguement was not that the STi is better but that there is more to the car then your "majic" numbers which is how the EVO won every comparison.
Also, every review I read had the driver play with DCCD and not one reported a better time than the auto mode. DCCD is not hard to learn and it's certainly not rocket science. I would certainly expect drivers like Rod Millen to know how to best use it.
Anyways...I'm done....have fun with your STi and I'll have fun with my EVO.

It IMO isnt about the Evo winning every race or vise versa, but your previous posts your making it seem like we Evo owners envy the STi, Im sure most Evo owners could buy an Sti, but theres a reason we didnt. I know as soon as I drove the Evo, I wanted it. Same feeling when we drove the S2K. I took my buddy for a spin in the Evo and he loved it, he liked the seats better (me too) and he felt the car was faster than his. Will the Evo win every race no, but neither will the Sti.
The way I look at it, we should gloat a little if we beat an Sti, you do have more hp and tq stock. Its like if you beat a Vette your gonna tell your buddies, I beat a Vette (this is just an example) Again I agree we should all be greatful we even have them here, how many times did we wish we had them.

i am glad the evo is here, and even happier the mr (albeit watered down) is coming too.
even though the 05 sti is better (marginally) it put pressure on subaru to adapt and hopefully make them realize that maybe it's time to sacrifice a lil more americanization and make the car a wee bit more hardcore.
seats & steering! dammit!
give me better seats & quicker steering
one thing some people should realize regarding the evo and sti comparisons.
the evo's capabilities allow for higher corner ENTRY SPEED with it's quick steering, lesser body roll whereas the sti allows for higher corner EXIT speeds with it's torque and powerband
