I think it really depends. I'd imagine it would be easy to remove some weight from that car (backseat). Also the 4WD should make the even out the extra weight in terms of handling capabilities . Also the EVO should be very easy to extract additional HP compared to an M3. As godai pointed out the damn lawsuits in the US and increase safety standards compared to other countries probably added some heft to the car. But remember a GSX at 3200lbs and 210hp can easily do high 13's low 14's without mods. So an EVO at 3300lbs and 250hp can and should be able to do high to mid 13's without mods. All you have to worry about it that damn Mitsu quality.

I think the M3 is AS fun as the S2000 to drive.. just because it has lots of power and torque readily available. It might not be as stiff as the S2000 on the corners, but still.. it has it's fun qualities. You guys should try the SMGII system, even though i'm a diehard manual tranny fan.. you guys have to try it!

Thats wrong... I have the JSpec EVO7 spec pdf here...
GSR is 1400kg (3,086 lb) with all the electronics... and
RS is 1320kg (2,910 lb) which is around 100lb more than S2000...

Sorry.. Misread that..
Though I seriously doubt that a stronger front bumper will be 300lbs...
I believe that the EVO7 has a stiffened chassis of the USDM Lancer... so
it should have problem passing the safety law...
