Evo owners...
Need some advice...will be considering an Evo 8, or 9 and was wondering the inherent diffrerences between the two. Also, how "easy or hard" are they to mod? I will be keeping the S, and will focus on modding the Evo, just for fun. I need the back seat, and the four doors..
Thanks.

They are very easy to mod, and the engines are bulletproof. I drove a lightly modded Evo MR, and it struck me as a 4 dr. Elise w/ a lot more balls. The steering is far better than that of any other car I've driven.
Even though I'd never even considered buying one before that, it tempted me for a while.

I just got an Evo IX SE a few days ago. I looked at used Evos and STis first, but I was scared to buy a previously owned one. Most of them are owned by younger drivers, who daily drive them, mod them, and generally beat the crap out of them. So I opted to buy a brand new one instead for peace of mind.
The 2006 IX have a number of power-making improvements over the 2005 VIII. And they have large number of under-the-skin changes VS the 03-04 VIII. The IX has the venerable 4G63 engine with MIVEC on the intake cam. On the evo, MIVEC offers contant variable intake valve timing, but not variable valve lift.
It looks like you already have a heavily modified S2000 already. Curious why you want to keep it and then mod the Evo too... In stock form, the Evo would make a reliable daily driver. But modded, probably not so much...
