Evo = 13.3X in
I know the Evo has been beaten to death on this board....but.... it is in "car talk"
Anyone get the May issue of SCC yet? (east coast people get screwed in just about everything...except the sun does rise over here).
They posted it at www.evolutionm.net, but the #'s sound goofy. 13.3X at 100mph? Even a SRT Neon can beat that trap speed. I think they said the car only had 600 miles on it?
I hope the car is that fast (or faster), but with better trap speeds.

AWD cars generally trap lower than there rwd and fwd counterparts. They do have faster 1/4 times though.
Wrx does the 1/4 @ 14.1 at like 94mph.
Is 6mph higher trap speed enough to justify .7 off the 1/4 time?
If so, the number is probably accurate.
The trap speed demonstrates very wel the from a roll acceleration. A stock WRX hangs with a RSX-S or Celica GTS (pulls a bit from the two).
The trap looks about right for the hp to weight ratio, right around the s2k and Z, and yes sadly the neon.
I look at it this way
Subract trap speed and 1/4 time from a fwd to get it's on roll accel.
Leave rwd alone
For awd add some trap speed and some 1/4 time to get it's on roll accel.
So if it was rwd it would trap around 13.8 at like 102-3mph.
What do you think it would run if it were rwd?

It would probably run times close to the new Z
about the same hp, and about the same weight.
The evo is down a bit on hp and up a bit on weight, but has a better torque curve (right?).

same trap speed, not same times..... new z is 14.0 at best.... the .6 difference is huge in a drag race.

I cannot get into the thread (not registered...too lazy to register)... is that 100% stock? Seems pretty damned quick for all stock....but some drivers do very well.....
