I thought the honda symbol was a tennis court in a swimming pool...

I've heard the same thing Destiny2002 posted before. Originally, the logo was some design calipers, and a crossbar was added later.

All of the above. That's the brilliance of it.

Acura's original slogan was "Precision crafted performance," hence the calipers.

In my mind there is no such thing as Acura. United states, and Canada are the only two countries that carry that badge. The rest of the worl knows the NSX as a Honda. For that matter there is really no such thing as Lexus or infinity either. Yes yes I know it exists here but it is simply a badging issue to help with selling the cars in the western market since the demographic here likes cars that "symbolize" something rather than just appreciating the actual car and it's built purpose.

Honda, Toyota, and Nissan were forced to separate their top models to comply with Congressional law, so we got Acura, Lexus, and Infinity dealers. The Acura logo is supposed to be a compass or calipers, ie, "accuracy", but it does remind one of a squished H.

I recently passed a moron in a Boxster heading the other way. Just before we passed, he honked the horn and pointed at his car with a smug "you wish you owned this car" look on his nodding face.

I just shook my head. People that buy cars simply for a badge ought to be shot.

i totally agree with baxdatass, i really wish people would start seeing cars for what they are. Acura is Hondas, Infiniti is Nissan, and Lexus is Toyota. i would like to suggest that henceforth, all owners of these cars have the badges changed to the j-spec form. start the movement!
