how much does the S2000 engine weigh? 275ish lbs?

Some guy posted a thread on corvetteforum asking about the weight of the Z06 engine and it got me thinking.

According to one of the posters, the LS6 is 355lbs.

In comparison, the M3 engine is 390lbs and the 3rd gen RX7's rotary engine is 345lbs.

I dunno how accurate these figures are as thats what the guy posted.

I have asked this question before and it is always kind of a crap shoot. Some people quote fully dressed engines, short blocks, long blocks, engine and transmission. In the new EVO mag they said the Carrera GT engine weighs 285lbs!!
