EDMUNDS TESTS LEXUS LS600H
IMO, this thing dosent live up to all the hype. Even though I wouldnt personally choose either, the LS460 would do fine.

Well that's definitely disappointing, enough that buying this thing isn't worth the added $20-30k. Maybe if you absolutely babied it around it would do better, but since the regular LS460 is rated as good or better than Edmund's test mileage for the hybrid, my guess is you'd get similar mileage babying the regular car around as you would the hybrid.
5300lbs is a tall order and even the S600 is 500lbs lighter abouts. Now that the first year's alotment of LS600hs has been sold off, it'll be interesting to see what the difference between magazine tests and real life is, and if the result is bad, if Lexus will continue to sell them so easily.

Wow, only 22mpg highway? The thing must have the aero of a brick! (Granted, increased weight hurts rolling resistance, but I wouldn't expect THAT much...)

so instead of adding 4 more cylinders. they added a electric motor for more horsepower. according to lexus. this is a car that people will be buy because money is not a problem. so why worry about a few $$$ at the pump? they are going to goto a full service pump. really how many rich "green" people are there? those same "wealth" people that care about prestige, buys the AMGs, bentleys or astons. not toyotas and don't car about gas mileage.

I'd go for a Bentley or RR if I had the money and wouldn't care about the gas. But thats just me, I guess Toyota has 1000+ buyers already so they must know what they are doing.

Wow gas mileage sux 20/22 vs 18/27 (LS460L) 19/27 (LS460)
LS460 is the v8 version. The LS600H is supposed to be a v12 competitor. So when does a v12 Merc get 20/22? Or even anything close? It is 12/19 mpg on the s600 Merc.
Will the rich buy into this Marketing? That is yet to be seen.
