Hmm, I really disagree. Maybe the rating numbers are misleading, but if you take the time to read the reviews you really get an honest idea of what the car is like. You can't put too much stock in what any one person says, but when you find common issues/complaints it starts to paint a very useful picture.

People have all sorts of reasons for shading survey responses one way or another. One is to validate their decision. I do think JDP has the more credibility than CR mainly because they give me a buck to fill out their survey.
Then there are the Corvette owners who report low reliability and high satisfaction in CR. No reason to think they're not telling the truth on either count.
