That and every once in a while a smart ass teen who does not own the car chimes in with a made up review.
Something like: "1 out of 10, I bought one and it smelled like donkey poo and had no power. Not as good as my old Pontiac Fiero."

Not a bad idea but it does lend a certain credibility to the claims that if a brand has "good reliability" people are more likely to cut a vehicle slack. The exact same failure on a "bad reliability" brand will result in more scrutiny. Note the times identical twins with different brands would receive different scores.
