Default E55 or Corvette and truck?

If you have a choice between a new E55 Benz or a Corvette and nice truck, which would you choose and why?

Vette and truck, for sure (as long as the truck could seat four adults). The Vette is sportier than the E55 and about as quick (maybe a bit faster if it's a C6, maybe a bit slower). Either way, it's a sports car (vs the E55, which is a sporty car) and it'll handle far better. Sure, it may not hold value quite so well but you seem to keep yours for a while - shouldn't make too much of a difference. The truck can serve for heavier duties or making trips with more than one person. The Vette will be more reliable than the Benz as well - guaranteed - and easily modified (relatively cheaply) if you so desire. If you're talking about your current Vette, it's already nicely modified and quite quick.

Seems like a no-brainer to me.

Truck and Corvette. I like the E55, but the 2 vehicles would be so usefull and serve the purposes that the E55 could only partially do of both. I agree with Jonboy that the truck would need to be a 4 seater.

Common cory, that too easy for me.

C6 Z51 and Duramax turbo diesel for me. Lets see thats 48k + 30k. yup about the price of the E55. I can probably haggle on the Duramax or buy a used f250 with powerstroke TD.

however, i would state that most people who can afford a E55 have a 911 or Corvette equivalent. They usually also have a SUV or SW or minivan for the hauling needs.

Depends on what you want to do with it, and where you are in life. If you constantly need the 4 doors, & 4 seats the MBZ might be better. If you will use it to entertain clients with the MBZ is a no brainer. If you are an executive at a company I would say the MBZ might be a little more prestigious. If you are into autocrossing/track racing the Vette/truck combo would work. Or if you are into hauling stuff, then the truck works out.

Sorry butt here is no way the new C6 Vette is faster than the E55. The E55 can match the Z06 in 0-60 & 1/4 mi. times. The new Vette while putting out Z06 like #'s is still a few hundred lbs. heavier, and tests have shown it is about .3 sec. slower in 0-60 & 1/4 mi. times.

In terms of mods, the E55 has a few very easy mods (bigger intake tube & K&N that have pushed it into the high 11's). For $7K you can get an extra 80 hp & 85 ft.lbs. of torque (550 hp & 600 ft.lbs. !). I'm sure the Vette might be a bit cheaper to mod though.

Depends where you are in life. Personally I won't can't show up to work in a truck or a Vette. Just a little older now. Not hating, but I would trade in the 1% of track time fun for the 99% drivability/nice interior/prestige of the E55.

Fanman - don't forget to subtract 25% of the time that the E55 is in the shop.

Vette and truck. MDXLuvr, I've got a loaded Duramax crewcab and it's awsome but even with discounts it was about the price of a 04 ZO6. That hurt but the ZO6 couldn't tow the race car or horses.
