Anything can be accomplished if you throw enough money at it...what you're talking about would be ridiculously expensive and would require alot more than just a motor swap. The electronics in BMW's are rather complicated to begin with and parts aren't cheap...my guess is that you would come out ahead and save some money by just picking up a slightly used 996TT. Finding someone with the 'know how' to do what you're talking about wouldn't be easy either and you're probably talking about a pretty long term project.

This is the dumbest idea ever. You're swapping a high rev raw power engine for a mild manner engine. Your M won't be an M anymore.

unless everything's a direct bolt-on (which i'm quite sure it's not), i'd pay horsepower freaks a visit and get a turbo kit for the s54 and call it a day. this engine has a ridiculously free flowing head and doesn't require much boost to make power at all

FUG THE N54.

I can't really tell if the OP is joking or not.

But if it's straight line performance you're going after, it'd be much cheaper and easier if you just put a superchager on the S54. If money isn't a object, you can go with the 900HP set-up. (do a research on M3forum.net).
