I got the wheel/tire protection on the last 2 Mercedes' I leased. Paid off within 6 months on the E class, haven't had to use it on the S class, but it's nice to know it's there if something does happen.

My mom bought the IS350 Convertible with wheel and tire protection. She then proceeded to scrape three of her rims in the first week.

They fixed it without asking a single question.

I think people should just stop worrying about what everyone else is doing for the most part. lot of time and energy wasted it seems to me.

Is it common practice for them to cover curbed rims? I thought it was only for tires/bent rims for some reason...

Probably so, but Lexus dealers are typically known for stuff like this. Maybe if it was several months into ownership they'd have given her more grief.
