Just FYI, from the BMW website:
2.5l is 184hp with a weight of 2932 lbs. and base MSRP of $33,100.
3.0l is 225hp with a weight of 2998 lbs. and base MSRP of $40,250.
This thing is going to be a dog compared to other vehicles in its class/price range! Not to mention it looks like garbage.

$40K I can understand, $47K is pretty steep, probably because automatic is a $1500 option. I think I would pony up a more ($56K) and get an AMG SLK. It used to be that the M roadster was that price ($45K-$47K) and made a much better choice financially than the MBZ AMG SLK32, but if it comes out at $55K the choice becomes much closer.

Went to see it in person at Crevier BMW, which had two (dark silver and freaky-crayola crayon blue) and it is still ugly up close. They had a lot of 7's on the lot too. Interior seems to be the only OK aspect of the whole car.

All the BMW dealers are getting the same models and colors for demo purposes.
Here are two more pics I took on Saturday in Wilmington.
