I always wanted a Z, I already had the plan on getting ridgeline and towing the S to the track... Wonder if the 370z will tow the S

it's a nice departure from the 350z
If you found some one that didnt know any better they would think the 370 was a modded 350 they are by no means identical but they are along the same lines.

Interesting so the car is a full manual but has rev-matching? I have never heard of that. I fear with modern sports cars that it won't be long before the driver is taken out of the equation entirely.

Yes, because they are already on their way to driving themselves. Who needs to turn the wheel. I welcome the day when commuting is easy and painless, and if I want to have fun, I go into manual mode.

I don't see your complaining about the synchros that make your transmission easier to shift, your numb electronic power steering, your drive by wire throttle, stability control, or radial tires!

Amen.

Everyone who's an enthusiast thinks that they are Michael Schumacher or something when the fact is most people couldn't handle a car without modern technologies which help out driving tremendously.

For me, the issue at hand for driving as an enthusiast is making a vehicle do what I want it to do. The engine, transmission, chassis, and suspension working as one to do to accomplish this goal. I've never owned an automatic in my life b/c I never felt that an auto box could provide that for me, but I'm open to new changes that actually HELP me make a car behave as I want it to (DSG, rev matching transmissions, in addition to variable valve timing, well tuned ABS, etc.).

Now, differentiate those technologies from those like
- undefeatable traction control
- poorly tuned electric power steering, completely devoid of steering feel
- unresponsive drive by wire
All of which can result in an inability to make the vehicle do what i would like it to do in certain situations.
