It all depends...
If we feel you are a competent driver, we'll let you drive it to the limits, within reason.
The key thing is, listen to the instructors... as soon as you stop listening, we lose trust... when we lose trust, we don't feel comfortable letting you push the car.
Ultimately though, we're all car guys too, it's just we don't want anyone killing themselves (or us)... or worse, breaking the cars
