The 944 motor is plenty reliable until about 250K miles or so, after which it just needs a minor rebuild, and its as good as new. It really is a bulletproof engine.

Water pumps and timing belts seemed to be the big expenses. Although I never had any problems except for a bad thermostat. Oh yea....and 2 trannys (abuse). Still one of my favorites!
