I think it looks good, and the engineers probabally did a good job. But like other cars that come out of detroit (can we say corvette), what is the build quality like? Lets hope this is the start of something different, because history says otherwise.....
The Magnum is an awesome looking ride. The TL and Magnum RT are two totally different rides.

Regarding your comment about the Corvette, that's about the worst example to pick. The new Corvettes have been about the best engineered cars out of Detroit/US ever. I love riding mine very hard and putting her away wet time after time. She can take the abuse and she loves it.

I dont know man. I like the Old Chop top chevys Nomads and old muscles "station wagon's". I think this car just has a great presence on the road. And it just seems to "snarl" at you when you pass by.

I was just having this Discussion last night, and if i had choice of a cruiser/beater at the moment, i would deffinately get the hemi version of this car. I really cant wait to hear it with an exhaust...Its gotta sound great.

the mangum looks bad ass man kind of 300c like. How fast is it?
The Hemi V8 has 320hp and 390-TQ, it weighs 4000 lbs, but it's perty near as fast as a S2000. I mean 0-60 in the low-mid 5's.

It's faster than any FWD car (I can't think of one that's close).

Coolness, I think the Magnum will be cool for a long time. Especially if you get a Hemi. With a V6 is just another wagon, but with a V8, it's a wolf in sheeps clothing.

when i first saw the pics of the Magnum, I was impressed. however, the other day i saw one on the highway and I did not really like what i saw. maybe it was a base model, it was all black, and heavily tinted and it looked like it had the cheaper rims on it. to me it looked like a hearse.

i must say, with more aggressive rims and a body kit it could look much better. but having encountered a base model first, i was underwhelmed.

An Acura TL is roughly as fast - high 5's to low 6's for 0-60.

A Honda Accord coupe with a 6MT will run high 5's to low 6's in the 0-60, as will an Acura CL 3.2 Type-S with 6MT and Nissan Altima with V6 and 5MT.

A Honda Accord sedan with 5MT and V6 will also run low 6's.

The Magnum with the Hemi runs low 5's (lowest I've seen is 5.3) to low 6's (6.3 is about as high as I've seen). Over that range, I've listed at least five cars might equal or beat it (depending which numbers you take).

I really love wagons, almost always think they are cooler than their sedan counterparts. But I have to say having seen both the 300 and the Magnum, I like the 300C better. There is something about the grill and front lights that says retro-art deco-gangster, something that makes me think this could be the new Bluesmobile, if you know what I mean. The detailing on the Magnum looks a little too edgy, too exaggerated and trucklike to my eyes. But I think the concept of both are very cool- it's about time we had a big, proud, RWD american sedan again.

In one of the autoweeks I saw a photo of a 300C Touring, which is basically the Magnum wagon with 300C cosmetics. This is what they are going to sell in Europe. IMO it looked nicer, and from what I've heard the interior detailing is a little nicer on the Chrysler than the Dodge as well. I think they should sell the 300C Touring here also, this car should be a big enough hit that they can move more than one version of it.

Both the 300 and Magnum rock. Big thumbs up for Detroit (and Mercedes on the 300) for coming out with stylish and bold cars.

I'm not worried about American build quality anymore, I think in the last couple of years the majority of builders have got their act together.

The 300 is definitely in my sights for my next car, along with the G35. And I'm 27, not 43. I just have to really test drive them both and see what I feel confortable with. Either one will be fun to modify.

Rumor has it the 300 coupe is coming out soon!

It's a station wagon. To me personally, I wouldn't care how much power that thing had, it's still a station wagon, but that's just me. I'm not big on station wagons. Same with Subaru Forrester 2.5XTS Turbo was it? You know, the station wagon. It's a station wagon.
