Wow, that's really dumb.

No wonder Crysler is in trouble.

Just imagine. Miata - FWD; S2000 FWD; Corvette : FWD and discounted by 40% of prices.

Would you ever consider buying one?

Yeah, I agree. But, new 2008 vipers are already selling at invoice. Cerebrus(sp?) capital that now owns chrysler is more interested in making money on their investment (can't blame them) then keeping the viper around.

they are tightening their line up just like toyota. cheap price is the game i guess. you sell to the masses, not just a few people. They are trying to break into the chinese market. they is why that are letting them do the platform. I see the chinese building dodges and chryslers.

Why are base American makes taking the "cheaper than euro/japanese-cars" ball and running with it so much? Couldn't they at least go with the "better car for the same money" approach a bit until they get a better image? I would like to buy american, but as an example, until the Mustang GT gets a rear suspension, I'll pay the extra and buy a 350Z anyday.
Well, Ford and Chrysler are doing this, but not GM. GM's new Chevy models are getting great reviews, its revamping its Pontiac line up (mainly from Australia), the Cadillacs are being lauded world wide, its trucks are better, and the Corvette is better than its ever been.
