Which do you prefer?

I agree the EVO X is off the list.I do like the new STI and there may be some practicality especially if you have to deal with snow.Tough choice, looks wise neither is gonna win any beauty contest.See if you can drive both back to back before you decide.I can tell you that my 335 Coupe has been a total joy to own and drive, and the look has grown on me.

new evo and sti doesn't appeal that much to me anymore,
due to the pricing.
"affordable performance" was what it was all about...
when it becomes "expensive performance" you'll have tons more options.

But (I suspect) this MSRP price is just a starting point I already see 08 Subarus at 10% off just for the no-haggle price.
I could easily imagine the real-world STi price being closer to $32K-$36K range (instead of $35K to $40K).
I don't know if that's a valid assumption, but as posted on another thread European delivery you can knock several thousand dollars off a BMW and even tho the Japanese don't have that feature, they do know it takes incentivs to sell most cars these days (ie. selling at invoice or low finance or both).

Are you asking, "which do we prefer?"
Or "which would we prefer if we were you?"
It'll vary depending on what other cars in the stable.
If I could only have one car out of them: STi for AWD and hatch.
If I had an S2000, STi or Evo IX.
If I had an S2000 and multiple AWD vehicles at home, BMW 135.
If I had an S2000, multiple AWD vehicles at home, and an extra $100-200 per month didn't mean anything, BMW 335.
If I had an S2000, didn't want to drive the AWD vehicles at home, and didn't mind used, CPO'd BMW 335xi sedan for the same cost as an Evo X.

Why not look at the 335i coupe.I'm sure it can be had for invoice if you shop and you'll have plenty of room.Nicely optioned for 42k with a 6 speed ( less with euro delivery).I think its a pretty nice looking ride,we always get compliments on the cars apperance.Put a turbo tuner on for $550.00 and you've got more than enough power for the street.

STi. Higher performance. More practicality.
I happen to dig the looks. I have no idea why people equate hatchbacks with budget cars and bad looks. To me, sedans (and most coupes) of any flavor just bore the crap out of me. To each their own.
Some initial tuner testing at nasioc is indicating some serious headroom for improvement as well.

Haven't seen those posted here so I hope I'm not violating any rules.
