the markup is in the aftermarket, i.e. used cars. many people get the car delivered and flip it on their own or thru the dealer to people that are willing to pay extra for not waiting on the list.
a dealer is going to sell you a new car, i.e. one that you have been on the wait list for, at MSRP.
for my 360, on wait list sep 2000, delivered aug 2003, MSRP 148, out the door at 162 with TTL and options. would have been a couple months earlier but i had to sell my house to buy the car (stock market ate all the funds i had targeted for purchase of car).
on the 430, on wait list aug 2004, no idea when i get to the top, but doubt it will be earlier than late 2006.

Raj,
Not sure what you are trying to prove here but as others have already said, people who could comfortably afford F430 doesn't think anywhere near like rest of us.
Start your ownership experience with long drawn out waiting period unless you want to buy it privately paying high premiums. Through an authorized dealers, you are looking at at least a year of waiting list.
Your median income is well over several millions/year. You won't give a rats ass about how much the maintenance or depreciation costs. It will be one of the many Ferraris you own or other cars in your warehouse full of other toys.
You are so stinking rich you wouldn't know what to do with all your money. At this point, making money isn't really an issue, it is keeping them grow into next 20 or 50 millions within your off-shore accounts without having the IRS launc a full scale tax investigation on your smarty ass.
So analyzing cost of exotic ownership means nothing to actual owners. They never will be affected by how much it cost to do scheduled maintenance each year.
That being said, I'd like to ask you one more time.
WHAT IS YOUR FREAKIN POINT of this thread? Are you that bored?

JK, I don't actually think you went homeless to buy a car- just sounded funny.

How are ya? Remember me? last years FC? you gave me the shot gun ride in your 360. Anyways, so you are getting F430? If you ever bring that car out to another S2000 meet, I'd love to ride in shot gun again!
