I ran into big issues when I placed an oder on mine a few years back. I ordered my car from Ali Fattahania at South Bay Acura (Torrance, CA) 4 months before I returned my 911. Salesman said no problem, with such a lead time I would get my car no problem. Kept in contact every few weeks, always got a positive response & there was no issues. Probably talked to the guy 6 times, everytime it was good news the car was being assembled, the car was on it's way over here. Get a call 3 days before I am supposed to pick up the car. It was never produced, they need to get a certain # of orders before they start production of the cars, the production was pushed back 1 month, possibly more. Basically got screwed. Tried to work out a deal on a fully loaded TL, but just wound up walking away from Acura.

As far as I know you can't place orders on any more, the dealer I bought one through ordered their second allocation, and aren't even expected to get it, since most of the next allocations were for next year.

I think they're still making them for a while. The new NSX doesn't come out in a few years, so, according the Honda, they're gonna continue making it for a few months. However, it is special order only, so, you're not going to see them in dealerships.
