Well after I got all psyched out about the 330i with its C&D road test:
0-60 5.6s
0-100 15.3s
1/4 14.3@98 mph
0-60 5.6s
0-100 15.3s

Dude, its time to stop paying so much attention to magazine times. Honestly, your a mature individual that makes a decent living and it takes a bit of intelligence in life to do that but you keep going back to the damn magazines when you look at drag strip data. its time to stop!
if you want real info, go to your local drag strip and see what the cars actually get! better yet, go to a forum and see what times people are posting.

I thought maybe another test could be even better (or worse).
Well R&T has a test also with 6-speed MT
0-60 6.2s
0-100 16.9s
1/4 14.9@94.1 mph
0-60 5.6s

I drove this car Saturday with the Steptronic. Its a well balanced car, and still the best sports sedan under $42k. The handling was magnificent, even without the sports package.
That said, I did expect more, with 15hp over the 99 MCoupe I had. The acceleration is decent and the engine remains smooth at WOT, but the kick just isn't there. The steptronic does a great job of holding gear, in fact i thought it was not going to shift as it went well past its 7000rpm redline in first before upshifting.
Usually BMW times are faster than their hp numbers would imply; the fact that it's running neck to neck with the A3/A4 and the heavier TL is disappointing. I'm waiting to see some numbers for the 325i.
