Did Honda make sports cars?

Did Honda make sports cars?
I'm talking about in the 70's and such.
Toyota made Supras and Celicas, Mazda made Rx7s, Nissan made Zs Silvias and 510s... but what about Honda?
What were they doing?
I've loved Hondas since my 1st CRX when I turned 16 and I would love to build a nice little racer from an older platform. Older 260Zs and rx7s come to mind first but I would rather keep in the Honda family.
Did they ever make anything worth "racing"?

Assuming you have a S2000, they made your ancestors back in the day. The old S360, S500, S600, and finally S800 (dropped in 1970) models were made in the 1960s and 70s. Some of the first of Honda's cars and went up against the MG Midgets I believe. Not very commonly seen around the streets nowadays. This out to help you out a little: Click
