Deciding on a convertible
#43
I am set on the 911, as it is small, sporty and has a small back seat. The M3's are great, but I want something smaller.
It is funny how I lost my initial bearings of wanting a small backseat when seeing so many nice two-seater sports cars. Anyway, I am back to wanting a small backseat and the Fiat is too ancient now.

i was able to take a z4 for an extended 10 miles test drive at a bmw event with my friend. i liked the lined top, it was quieter than my honda is. the seats are fine, the ride is harsher over uneven surfaces than the honda.
fit and finish are superb for a rather inexpensive bmw. upkeep is not inexpensive. i do not care for the lines of the car, i think it is just too disjointed and lacks a smoothness i associate with great looking cars (see 911,3 series of old, aston, jag, etc)...i have tried so hard to like the looks of this car, but i still think it is a joke to behold.
now i have seen the new coupe...the m...that is great looking for some reason. i also like the new m roadster as well...not the cost to buy or the cost to keep up.
nice car if you can get beyond the harsh ride, bloated price, and strange exterior looks. the honda is a much better deal, and was my choice ....but it does not have the pinash of the beemer, since i have had a beemer i can say"so what"and enjoy the extra cash i have in leu of pinash.
