that kit has been in development for awhile. no idea of the quality though. then you have to buy a mr-2 donor and pay the inflated premium

Looks nice, but I think I would be more inclined to go with the WCM Ultralite.

I'm not really a fan of this kit. You have to buy a turbo MR2 which are hard to find and are getting more and more expensive. Then you pay $23k for the kit itself after you get the MR2. The kit weighs over 2,200 pounds, so with an engine you'd be probably at around 2500 pounds, which is heavier than the MR2 itself...

+$23K? That gets you into Lotus Elise territory, a car whose styling looks similar (okay, more like track model Elise mated with a Gallardo).

Its nice but you have to take the time for the build. I'm loving the ls1 conversion.

The running prototype is 2,280 lbs. They indicate that the weight can be lowered through the use of CF body parts and a chromoly chassis, but they don't say by how much. They estimate roughly a hundred lbs more weight for the LS series V8 option. Those engines may be cheaper than the Toyota, and certainly easier to find. I'm not sure about the availablility/cost of the Porsche transaxle for that package.

Looks like fun. I could see a 450/500 hp LS2 in a 2,400 lb car.

Buy a FFR-$13,000 plus donor. I did and wish I still had it. 2000 pounds and as much HP as you want. With the average donor Mustang, you will have 225HP.
