No offense, man, but all of your editorial content seems really obvious.

This is true. Although, I have no clue why all of the Corvette guys are all butt hurt over it.

It hits a wall around 150 mph b/c of all the downforce the body generates. This is what enables the C7Z to lap VIR faster than a Porsche 918

Based on the 0-150 times, it hits a wall a lot sooner than that... probably closer to 120. Regardless, I'll admit that lap times are probably a more valuable metric for this car than standing mile drag races.

FWIW the C7Z was being driven by a hot-shoe engineer/semi-pro driver while the 918 was being driven by a ham-fisted auto journalist.

It's like the whole Lightning Lap thing - these are the best times set by a from a group of C/D journalists, not something like putting Randy Pobst in the driver seat for 5-10 laps and taking his best time in each vehicle. Not saying the C7Z isn't fast, just that the statement "faster than a 918 around VIR" is suspect.

More like the driver of the 918 is an amateur magazine editor and the driver of the Z06/Z07 was a factory engineer/ semi pro driver.

I'd love to see the actual downforce numbers of the Z07 package. No one has released numbers.

And I'm well aware of that. Also let's not forget it was a different day, different track conditions. Same day, same pro-driver I'm sure the 918 wins. But to even be in the company of the 918 means this Z06 is a beast.

Did the 918 run the track with the new config or resurfacing or whatever they did? Up in Portland when pir was resurfaced and widened people were going 1.5-2 secs faster overnight. This track is basically a 90 sec lap for a fast streetcar. Not taking anything away but I've heard conflicting reports. If so, then the z06 is really THAT fast, but cars that previously ran the track need a shot with a great driver to know how close other cars are.
