Damn, BMW is such a tease...

As usual they will sell bags of them, bages and styling and 6 cyl and all.
I would hope the car would come in less than the existing cars that BMW offers in terms of the 1 series, what I mean is that I am dissapointed that the 1 cost almost as much than a 3 which costs almost as much as a 5,etc....I would hope they would com eup with a car like they have in europe that sells for the mid 20's new.
Sure they give free maintenance, but what is that(worth) fluids and filters and checking stuff on a new car? many companies offer free maintenance now.
I just think BMW makes a better used car purchase than new and whatever they offer seems too much money for what you get, unless you are into impressing your neighbors with what you own. Performance can be had for less, and style is relative.
that being said i do like the idea of this car....soon there will be a boatload of 07 and 08 cars coming off lease, I just saw a 08 m3 6 speed convertible with nav for under 50k!

Even though I have always advocated function over form, I could never see myself paying good money for something that looked that hideous. I would have to run to my car with my eyes closed every time I wanted to go for a drive.

Meh I don't care for looks too much. And I like how the 135 looks. It's not beautiful, it's just a fun small quirky car. At least it doesn't look as bland as every other BMW product.
Forget the M3 V8 in the 1 series...that would be a big LOL from BMW.
It's going to be chipped with firmer suspension and an LSD. Fine by me.

I wouldn't go as far as saying the 135 looks like a pot bellied pig. I actually like the car. Pictures don't really do it any justice IMO. It is a capable performer and I highly doubt the M Division is going to drop the ball with taking an already capable platform and making it better.
Here is a video of how it compares to the S2000 and some current others:

I want to like the 1 series but just cannot get over its exterior styling and cheap, Scion-like-quality interior. Kinda the same way I feel about the Evo8
