It's kind of funny going from 5.7L to 6.0L with the same hp. like the S2000 going from 2.0L to 2.2L.
May end up with the same performance but I wonder if there's any advantage for one engine over the other. I wonder if down the road people will be looking for a 1st gen V as better than a second gen or will they basically be a wash.

the V is the only vehicle left in the GM lineup still using the LS6.
I drove the GTO with the LS2 before I got the V. Nice motor.
I love my V now...cant wait for the snow to fly NOT!

I hope people know the LS6 dynos higher than the LS2. Wonder how this is going to hurt the CTS-V.

I personally consider the LS2 and LS6 to be identical motors for all intents and purposes. The LS6 has a tad better top end and the LS2 has a tad better low-end. They both have their benefits, but I would think most CTS-V drivers would prefer a little more low-end grunt over top-end for the day to day slogging through traffic.

Um, the going rate for the '05 GTO is around $30k or so. This price for the CTS-V at $40k is WELL worth the extra $10k for all the features and amenities the CTS-V offers.
