In my opinion any car can be driven in the snow with a set of snow tires and patience -- even the S2000 with a set of cheapy steel wheels and tires is an option.

Living in Michigan and owning a '00 ITR I can tell you this: Low temps and OEM rubber don't mix. I took my car out one day late last Fall. There was no salt on the road for maybe five days as it was unseasonably warm for about 7 days and so little snow previous that I was tempted to bring "Aelf" out of the garage. I should have listened to the forecast.

There was maybe 1/8 of an inch of snow on the ground on my return truip home and I had NO traction. NONE. I was trying to make a right turn in about 50 yards so I gently applied the brakes. Nothing but ABS judder. I turned the wheel to make the turn and there was nothing. The car plowed forward and I don't recall it losing any speed.

I have one buddy who used to drive his thru the Michigan winters with snow tires. I've ridden with him in the winter and the car is just as balanced as it is in the dry, obviously, but why waste such a neat car driving in the snow?

Front wheel drive, and SNOW TIRES are a great combo on any of the above mentioned cars. Light cars work well and are easy to push when stuck. I've driven a prelude for years in light and heavy snow without problems.

... but why waste such a neat car driving in the snow? I'd much prefer something other than an ITR for snow duty.

The RE010's are particularly bad in the cold and wet.

*Raises Hand*
to admit to driving an ITR in the winter.

It was my only car, and If I wanted to have it, I had to drive it year round.
It was a blast, once you get past the fact of actually driving an ITR in the snow.

It handles awesome, LSD helps a little I'd say, it was so much fun
to take out in parking lots with fresh unplowed snow and play around in.

Anyway, yes, totally do-able.
And now I have a beater for the winter.

There is actually a "winter Autocross" competition here in SE Michigan. I'm not so worried about the snow, per se. It's the hundreds of tons of SALT that is used on the roads here.

Here in Upstate NY it is the same way. The whole idea of driving my '90 CRX-Si or the S2000 in the winter here is crazy in my book. I know there are some who do and that is fine for them, but for me the salt just rots my cars away too fast for me. My winter vehicle is a 4x4 pickup. Go ahead, make it rust, see if I care!
