Default Crossfire SRT-6 coming this summer

"The Chrysler Group has used the SRT (Street and Racing Technology) badge to underscore the performance of its hottest Dodges. But this summer, the SRT badge will be affixed to the Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6 coupe and roadster, which get supercharged V6 engines to back up their new initials. The Crossfire SRT-6 is equipped with a hand-built 330-horsepower, 3.2-liter supercharged V6 with 330 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. It is teamed to an upgraded five-speed automatic transmission with AutoStick. The SRT-6 will scoot, Chrysler says, from zero to 60 mph in just 5 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph. The Crossfire SRT-6 also gets a sport-tuned suspension and high-performance Michelin 225/40ZR-18 (front) and 255/35ZR-19 (rear) tires."

I do like the front end of the car but I really don't like the rear end. (The new SRT-6 front and and the current Crossfire's front end...the rear?....let's not go there) Another negative will probably be the price. The current Crossfire already starts at around $35K.

Because Chrysler and Mercedes are marketed as distinct entities, and it would damage the brand image of each if they were allowed to commingle. We may know what's up, but most customers won't.

Exactly. Every Chrysler dealer I drive by, I see at least 3 Crossfire's sitting on the lot or inside the showroom. They don't move now. Adding more $$$ to the sticker price won't get them moving faster. With those upgrades, it will surely hit closer to the $50k mark and Lord knows how many "better" cars are out for that price range.

I think folks are sitting and waiting on the $6000 rebates with 0.9% financing for 60 months. Let's see, that would roughly throw payments of $400+.

They need to kill the Crossfire with a quickness.

Oh, and I recently read that they will debut a convertible Crossfire this Spring. The Convertible PTCruiser comes out this Spring too, correct?

it would be a nice car for around 25k, with the current engine. But 35k, not enough grunt to justify owning a 2 door, impractical car

plus, I think you are required to listen to Celine Deon all the time on the stereo!

I always thought the current engine was a little under powered. It is suppose to be a well handling car though...not typical "chrysler". 50k is WAY to much though. So many other cars you could buy for that much....
