On the original topic though, anyone have more info on the additive itself?

The stations out here have been retrofitted with additional tanks to store it. Seems they are doing an on-demand mixing system.

your friend has no idea what he is talking about. I drove a gas tanker up to a few years ago. You can't drop partial loads, because you have no idea of what quanity you put in the tank.

In Canada, I pay $0.04 more per LITER for premium gas over regular gas at Costco. People that go to a "normal" gas station pay $0.18 more per liter, usually. On a tank of fuel, I'm saving $0.14 per liter, or roughly $4.50 per tank. Plus I get another $0.01 or $0.01 per liter for using my Costco AMEX card at the tank. I fill up every other week, usually, so the whole thing saves me about $100 per year. It's close to where I work so it doesn't cost me anything extra to drive there. In short, it more than pays for my Costco membership each year, just in gas savings. If my wife filled up there, we'd save even more...
how long are the lines tho? How much time do you spend waiting in lines? On average in my area Costco/bjs is a 30 minute wait for a .10/gal savings.

Even if I save $100/ year from going to Costco/bjs, it would take me roughly 25 hours per year to save that much money. Sorry but that much time is worth $100 to me.

Now if your area has no lines, that's a different story.
I have two Costcos in my area. One is 10-15 minutes away and the other one is 5 minutes away. Only during lunch, Mon-Fri, is the one 15 minutes away having lines for fuel, about a 5 minute wait.
The closer one, that I regularly go to, only has lines on Saturdays in the afternoon. Same thing, 5 minutes at most.

Like any place I frequent, you quickly figure out peak times and avoid, hence no lines to deal with. I don't go to restaurants when there is a wait either.

And just because your local one has lines doesn't mean the other 49 states has them.

As far as quality of the fuel. I tuned my STi on Costco gas, 92 octane ans the numbers were on par with Chevron and Shell. For the 3.5 years I owned that car I never put in anything but Costco premium and never had an issue.

Their gas is good. If you don't believe so then please show us proof not hearsay.

Costco only get runs at the end of the day? Why was the Western Refining truck delivering to Costco at 6:30 a.m. today near me? Western delivers the same gas to all Phoenix area stations. Chevron, Shell, Costco. There are no refineries in Arizona. All the fuel comes into one central port in the Phoenix market via pipeline and is trucked to the city stations all over town.
