I have seen new 04 corvettes advertised for 36k. What is the lowest price anyone has seen for a new ZO6 ? Man, mid 30s is awfully tempting.

Because they are cheap. Unless you get a Z06, but doubtful for under $45K.

I've heard of people getting a Z06 for around $42K.

I went to look at the Z06 and was only able to get $45K quote (and they were ripping me off another $2K for my trade in).

Let's say a discounted Z06 best price is $42K. You can probably get a new C6 400hp/400 tq for around $45-50K. The new one will keep more resale value and has HIDs, better interior, targa roof, better cup holders, better style etc.... I think it's worth the extra money to wait for the C6.

You can't compair a $36K (base) C5 to a base C6 on price alone because the C6 has a lot more horse power. It would be like if the 04 S2000 had 300hp vs 240hp for the 03 S2000.

That's why I bring up the C5 Z06 vs the C6 because they both have 400/400.

i'd pay about $10k for a vette, so i could sell it right away and profit about $20k. then i would pay off my S.

The word is the LS2 might be underrated...as to not piss off Z06 owners.
