Corvette Stingray Z51 Dyno Test
Very stout engine. For those that don't have the time to read, the bump in the dyno isn't due to VVT like I initially thought, it's due to the exhaust valves opening according to Edmunds. http://www.edmunds.com/car-reviews/t...dyno-test.html
Just for sh!ts and giggles

If this is the same dyno used by the old Inside Line (also edmonds), then it has always read high. Every car they've ever tested put out higher numbers than you think it should. People who aren't familiar with their testing are prone to think "Wow, strong engine!" while what would be more accurate is "wow, optimistic dyno!"
Regardless, I think the new Vette engine is probably rated appropriately - that is not too high and not too low.
And as a side note, that torque curve is impressively flat.

Edmunds has used this dyno for years now. It's good to compare the numbers to their other tests. You can't really compare a dyno vs a dyno.

So it seems to me that one could draw some legit conclusions by comparing the C7's 411 hp to the Viper's 558 to the M5's 514 hp, etc.
